Who will decide?
Planning application 14/13247 ( Sept 2015 )
****************************************************************************
3rd Nov 2015 - Update
The Committee membership for the Decision has changed.
No longer on the Committee:
The Development Control Committee will consider the officers' report and recommendation, as well as what it has heard and debated. It will decide to either reject the application or accept it - usually with conditions.
We understand that if the application is rejected the developer has the option to resubmit a revised proposal without incurring a planning fee. Or they could appeal.
It is important to bear in mind the Councillors are acting in a quasi judicial role. They must act independently and non partisan. They cannot be pressured to follow a party line. It is for us to persuade them that rejection is the right decision, and they need sound planning reasons why it should be rejected.
It is perfectly okay to email the committee members with your objections and for them to consider your objections. However the rules prevent them from discussing the case - so don't expect any response or dialogue in reply.
