What YOU can do to help Save Seething Wells: (updated March 2021)
This weekend: 13-14 March
Make a representation to the Planning Inspectorate supporting RBK’s decision to refuse Permitted Development rights for hard surfacing and fencing at Seething Wells. The owners have appealed this. Respond by 15th March.

Early next week: 16th March
Attend RBK’s Culture, Housing, Environment and Planning Committee meeting on 17th March at 7:30pm. The committee will be deciding whether to make the Article 4 direction removing Permitted Development rights relating to fencing permanent.
Submit any public questions by 10:00 on 16th March to democratic.services@kingston.gov.uk

Later:
Write to your local ward councillors, Portfolio Holder (rebekah.moll@kingston.gov.uk), Development Management (development.management@kingston.gov.uk) and Biodiversity Officer (elliot.newton@kingston.gov.uk) to express your concern at the site’s SINC status being at risk. Encourage the council to lobby the Site Selection Board to keep the SINC status and agree a management plan with the owners as they are obliged. Send evidence of the site’s management you may have.

Write to the Environment Agency at enquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk to request that herbicide spraying permit HERBC012175 be investigated. This was granted to treat Himalayan Balsam on site. There appear to be no records of this plant on site and all vegetation has been treated. Send any evidence you may have.
