What YOU can do to help Save Seething Wells: (updated March 2021)

This weekend: 13-14 March
Make a representation to the Planning Inspectorate supporting RBK’s decision to refuse Permitted Development rights for hard surfacing and fencing at Seething Wells. The owners have appealed this. Respond by 15th March.
Respond here: https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ reference APP/z5630/X/21/3267837

Early next week:  16th March
Attend RBK’s Culture, Housing, Environment and Planning Committee meeting on 17th March at 7:30pm. The committee will be deciding whether to make the Article 4 direction removing Permitted Development rights relating to fencing permanent.
Submit any public questions by 10:00 on 16th March to democratic.services@kingston.gov.uk
You can find streaming details and agenda here:
https://moderngov.kingston.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=699&MId=9182

Later:
Write to your local ward councillors, Portfolio Holder (rebekah.moll@kingston.gov.uk), Development Management (development.management@kingston.gov.uk) and Biodiversity Officer (elliot.newton@kingston.gov.uk) to express your concern at the site’s SINC status being at risk. Encourage the council to lobby the Site Selection Board to keep the SINC status and agree a management plan with the owners as they are obliged. Send evidence of the site’s management you may have.
Find your councillor here: https://moderngov.kingston.gov.uk/mgFindMember.aspx
Write to the Environment Agency at enquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk to request that herbicide spraying permit HERBC012175 be investigated. This was granted to treat Himalayan Balsam on site. There appear to be no records of this plant on site and all vegetation has been treated. Send any evidence you may have.
Ongoing:
Donate to our fighting fund. We are raising funds to pay for planning, legal and publicity support. Funds will also be used to help realise an alternative vision for the site that puts nature and heritage first. https://uk.gofundme.com/f/seething-wells- action-group
