Comments Deadline
|
Service Two1. Can you take residents’ comments on board and require the Applicant to fully commit to informing residents through a wider range of media than just the RBK website, given this is such a significant proposal for the town.
2. The Applicant refers to a further consultation with Statutory Consultees. Is there any Resident or Heritage representation in their latest consultee cohort? 3. Until the website and accessibility issues are resolved, please can the Council extend the comments deadline of 4th November. 4. Referring to the previous point, you may be aware that we were approached by an organisation called The Consultations Institute, specialising in ‘best practice' regarding standards in public consultation. They publicly backed us in our request for a comments deadline extension, citing “the 4 Leggatt/Carrconsiderations” in recent case law for RBK to consider. The link is provided below for your information.: https://www.consultationinstitute.org/what-must-consultation-papers-disclose/ Thank you for your email and apologies for the delay in responding.
I can confirm that the Planning Service has carried out a full consultation process in relation to the planning applications for the Eden Campus redevelopment. Local residents have been written to, 10 site notices have been displayed around the Town Centre, and a notice has been published in the press. With regards to the timeframe for any representations to be received, the statutory time frame is set out in law, however, any representations received up until a decision is taken will be taken into consideration in the assessment of the applications. I note your comments about making a paper copy of the application available in the Library, however, owing to restrictions around Covid-19 this will not be possible. If any residents have any questions they can email the Case Officer at [email protected] or write to him at the Guildhall (please mark any email for the attention of Toby Feltham). Any representations on the applications should be made through the Council's website, by email to [email protected], or in writing. Regards Barry John Lomax |
