On Wednesday 7 October 2015, British Land hosted a meeting with representatives from KRA and the Kingston Society. They talked us through their updated plans for the transformation of Eden Walk with new shops, homes, offices and public realm which will come with Tower Blocks...
Our objective is to have a dialogue with the developers, putting our concerns across before it’s too late in the process to do something about it. It is important to note that, as their Planning application is not in yet, we were not able to discuss important matters relating to exact infrastructure obligations.
We were pleased to see reductions in height and accumulative views including TOPO are being considered. We saw more info on the Visual Impact, Pedestrian levels, Landscape details and employment prospects of the plans.
We could not cover all but look forward to seeing the project in its entirety at the exhibition on 23rd/24th October.
In terms of Architectural style, the jury is still out on how the design will fit in and live comfortably without compromising the heritage of its surroundings which have grown over eight hundred years and which we are keen to safeguard for future generations.
