We are making observations as we digest the implications here:
> The Old Post Office Site
Changes
- Tower is lower at 16 stories
- New tower design
- 22 fewer homes.
- Single scheme ( Frances House is purchased by St George )
See the Full Application here on the council website - a useful starting point to explain the scheme is the Design and Access Statement: "DAS Sept 2015 - Parts 1 to 15".
Here is the explanation taken from their Community Engagement Report Addendum September 2015.pdf
“The application is now for: 338 homes; 23,000 sq ft of retail space; 10,000 sq ft of offices; 6,900 sq ft of flexible retail or office space; 2,700 sq ft of community space; Refurbishment of the Old Post Office; Renovation of the Telephone Exchange; Landscaped public realm including a new public square; 132 car parking spaces; 636 cycle parking spaces.”
“Following submission of further amendments to the planning application in September 2015, a public exhibition will be hosted and a community newsletter will be issued to 11,507 local residents and businesses explaining the changes to the application.”
